Turtle Nesting
The turtles around Socotra abound in the clear blue waters.
Loggerheads, Greens and other varieties love this area and
choose to nest on the islands white sand beaches. We offer
turtle nesting tours in the company of Socotra Conservation and
Development Program guides who walk the beaches recording
nesting sites, collect information on turtle sizes, types, etc
and tag them for research studies.
Turtle nesting season starts as early as April but really gets
into swing during late May and June, extending through September
when the eggs hatch and all the little baby turtles race to the
water to hopefully a long life.
